Thursday 3 :: Favorite Words

Wow, has it really aready been one week?  I have been super busy editing the last wedding I did, I have neglected to post in this blog.  Luckily I started the Thursday 3 promise to myself… hence, I must post another!  This week, I decided to post on 3 words I have always liked.  I like to say them, to hear them, and just what they stand for in general.  I pulled these definitions from www.dictionary.com.

eclectic

1. selecting or choosing from various sources or made up of what is selected from different sources. (an eclectic taste in music, an eclectic collection of artists and writers)

2. not following any one system, as of philosophy, medicine, etc., but selecting and using what are considered the best elements of all systems.

3. noting or pertaining to works of architecture, decoration, landscaping, etc., produced by a certain person or during a certain period, that derive from a wide range of historic styles.

frugal

1. economical in use or expenditure; prudently saving or sparing; not wasteful.

2. entailing little expense; requiring few resources; meager; scanty.

Synonyms: thrifty, provident, careful.

concoction

con·coc·tion

1. mixture, medley, blend.

2. something concoted. (a delicious concoction of beans, rice and meat).

(concoct: to prepare by mixing ingredients, as in cooking.  To devise using skill and intelligence.)

Whenever I am running low on groceries, I always call my meals a “Gundy concoction”…
