Today’s post will be 3 photographers that have moved me, inspired me, and just made me say “wow” out loud. I really feel like I should start a separate themed post on this subject… and I probably will. It is really hard to choose just 3…

Peter Lindbergh

His photography is so creative and moving, I noticed his photos before I even knew who he was. It’s funny, because I typed his name into Google to research a bit more about him, and came across some photos that I have actually torn out of fashion magazines as inspiration, knowing nothing about who took the photos. Turns out, I have been a fan of his for awhile now! Lindbergh photographs celebrities and fashion, yet insists they be as natural as possible, wearing minimal make-up and simple styling.

Richard Avedon

Yet again, a photographer I discovered I had been a fan of for quite awhile… I literally have this last photo framed in my bedroom… has been there for awhile now, and I just recently realized that this photographer is SO INSPIRING to me. The way his photos have shapes, and the people flow, it’s really nice to view his portfolio. He began working for Harper’s Bazaar in 1944. He became its art director in 1961 and “completely revolutionized fashion photography”. He died at the age of 81 in 2004, but his work continues to inspire and move people, including me 🙂

Arno Rafael Minkkinen

This photographer has such a unique eye, it inspires me to keep pushing my imagination in every shoot I have. He uses no tricks or manipulations in his photos, just depth, reflection, and creativity. He uses his own body as the main subject in the majority of his work. Truly weird… truly inspiring.
Coming soon… previews of the last engagement session I had with Katie and Jason!
