Thursday 3 :: Fall Inspiration

Pulling inspiration from seasons is a great way to decide what to incorporate into your wedding.  Fall is a very colorful time of year, and perfect for rich, warm hues and beautiful, natural elements.  You can get inspiration for everything from your save-the-dates to your flowers to your table decor.  I have pulled some of my personal favorites from Fall (in my opinion the best season!) that I find inspiring and intriguing.

Caramel Apples

First of all, I am in love with anything caramel, especially caramel apples, because they just make me smile.  They bring back memories of Fall when I was a kid, and make me feel like one all over again when I have the opportunity to enjoy one.  Caramel apples would also be a real treat for guests at a wedding… the perfect Fall indulgence.  They could be mini ones on a tray, or large ones packaged individually and tied off with a warm colored ribbon so guests can grab them as they exit as a wedding favor.  Add their names and table numbers to each and the apples will double as escort cards, Why not take it to the next step and create a signature Caramel Apple-tini drink?  Serve them during dessert or cocktail hour.

Fall Foliage

With the bright colors on the trees and plants, why not take them indoors and add some natural elements to your decor at your ceremony and your reception?  Place some colorful potted trees around the space, and use autumn leaves to enhance table tops and other various spots.  Use branches and twigs to make arrangements to decorate your alter and other places.  Line your ceremony aisle with them and bring in a very rustic Fall feeling to your wedding.  Add twigs to your paper items such as your save-the-dates and your thank-you cards to keep the theme going from beginning to end. Tealight candles will add to the warm feeling throughout as well.

Pies

Scrumptious mini pies of various flavors or even your one favorite flavor as a couple would make great favors from your wedding day.  Personalize a simple clear or white bag and make the presentation unique.  One of my favorite pie variations is such a great idea it would be sad not to share.  Make pie pops, which are absolutely adorable and can be so personalized and memorable.  I love the very detailed instructions on the blog at Luxirare.com.

All of the little details in your wedding is what makes it so inspiring for me as the photographer.  I love finding those little surprises throughout your day and capturing those memories and the work you put into making everything beautiful and fabulous!
