Nate proposed to Alyssa when they were out on a surprise date to Four Brushes Art Studio, where they were going to paint some things together. They began painting pottery, and Nate painted the question “Will You Marry Me?” on his vase. Alyssa and her son, Landon, were happy to accept Nate’s hand in marriage. He loves them both so much. “He is a real gentleman, and treats me like a queen!” says Alyssa. The year started off pretty grand for me with the privilege of shooting their wedding in Lead, SD at the wonderful Homestake Chophouse. They had a January wedding, which called for heightened nerves and high hopes for a clear and sunny sky due to unpredictable South Dakota weather. Lo and behold, the weather was perfect for January, and we got to venture through the colorful little town of Lead, nestled within the hills of this majestic state we live in. My second photographer for the day, Rachel Ebel, rocked her camera alongside me and we succeeded in documenting what I believe to be one of the coolest weddings I’ve ever had the honor of attending.
