Shannon & Clayton :: Black Hills Wedding Photography

Shannon and Clayton became Mr. and Mrs. in what I have to say is one of the most beautiful settings I have seen for a wedding!  Their venue was at Black Hills Receptions, nestled in the hills just outside of Rapid City, SD.  Even though the skies were full of clouds and the sprinkles came and went,  the weather held strong for their day, and the sunshine came out at just the right moments.  I felt lucky to be their photographer, and would like to share some of my favorites.

I loved that they decided to do a gift exchange just before their “First Look”.  Each of them read their letters out loud for the amazing videographer, AJ Production Company, and I enjoyed capturing the emotions each of them felt for each other.

Shannon made such a breathtaking bride!

We took the opportunity during family photos to get both sets of parents together, still as in love as can be!

  1. I am Clayton’s Aunt. It was very important to me to be there for Clayton’s and Shannon’s wedding. As Clayton was growing up I used to surprise him and pick him up from school if I made it to Denver alright. They also had little giftshops for the kids at school to buy (with their monty) gifts for special people. I was so lucky to be one of the special ones and receive a beautiful tiny box wrapped with the most special poem on it and another time I received a small ceramic heart shaped dish to keep my rings in. I still have both to this day and those were some of the things that went through my mind watching as Clayton took Shannon to now be one of those special people. You did a beautiful job on the photos at the wedding and reception. I am hoping to be able to see a video of the whole reception, also. I left to get my Mom and Dad back to Gillette. Praises to all those involved in this wedding. It truly was beautiful.
