Nicole + Dan :: South Dakota Wedding

I can’t even begin to explain how great it was to meet Nicole and Dan and be a part of their important day. An amazing couple, amazing family and friends, and an amazing wedding from beginning to end. I can only smile when I think about the love that filled up the day to the point where it really felt like everyone was family by the time it was ready to leave. I enjoy being able to get to know so many people in this job, and having the privilege of witnessing first-hand family, love, and laughter, while capturing the memories being created as they happen.

Nicole is absolutely stunning. Her dress, hair, and makeup were beautiful, to match the fabulous wedding and reception details of which you could tell a lot of thought and effort went into. Nicole met Dan in Arizona, where they currently reside. She is from a small town named Jefferson, South Dakota, and this is where we met for the first time in a breathtaking church a few hours before they were to be officially announced husband and wife.

The wind was so strong on this day, but we were thankful for the nice weather overall in an unpredictable month like November. So we headed outside for some perfect light and tested the wind for a bit. The veil blew away a couple of times, but we managed to get some great shots before heading back inside!

I am in love with Nicole’s dress and with the bridesmaids dresses she had chosen. They were so elegant and pretty, with soft colors and beautiful movement as well.

There was a limo waiting for the wedding party outside the church, and Nicole wanted me to come along to capture the fun moments between them all on the ride to the reception. I couldn’t refuse!

The reception was held at the fantastic location of Dakota Dunes Country Club, with an awesome view of the sunset and some spectacular details just waiting for me to photograph 🙂

My favorite part of Nicole and Dan’s wedding was the feeling of love and happiness and comfort that filled the room. I left with that same feeling, knowing that I am truly doing what I was born to do and wouldn’t change it one bit.
